Scarred, Restored and Refined by Terry-Ann Henry

THE REDEMPTIVE AND RESTORATIVE POWER OF GOD.

Terry-Ann Henry, the Author of “SCARRED, RESTORED AND REFINED” talks of how God’s Grace and Mercies kept her during the different transitions in her life from being born to a teenage mother, was raised by her beloved Christian Grandmother, abuse, abortion and marriage.

Life in Kingston

She was taken to Kingston from the country at

the tender age of eight (8) years old by the man that was supposedly- her father. Living in the city she was exposed to many things that she had no idea existed. While living in Kingston, she witnessed constant domestic abuse between her stepmother and father who occasionally fist fight. She struggled academically and mentally as she tried to cope with all that was happening around her.

Molestation became the next phase in her life from a family member and from the man whom she was told- was her biological father.

RAPED

Thinking life could not be any worst, she went back to spend holiday with her family in the parish of Clarendon, where she experienced her first rape. Ashamed, broken and blamed by her aunt, she plummeted into low self-esteem and worth.

Refuge Seeking

Back in Kingston, she encountered more attempts of molestation from her father, resulting in her running away. She sought refuge but found it not from her mother who also lived in Kingston. She was rejected by her very own mother.

Terry-Ann then sought refuge from her former stepmother and was granted. She felt safe but that was short lived. Her stepmother who was also broken and scarred was not capable of offering the care, the now teenage Terry-Ann who was marred by all that she had encountered required.

TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

She left her stepmother’s home and moved in with her new love. Maneuvering school and a full-time relationship were challenging -she dropped out of school. Pregnancy was the weapon used to force her to continue living in a toxic relationship of her own. Things never got better for her, and her life continued to go downhill.

Terry-Ann then left from one toxic relationship to another. Pregnant with twin girls and stressed proved to not be a good combination- she had a miscarriage at eight months. Terry- Ann credits her retaining mental sanity to the Mercies of God. She became pregnant again in that same relationship and another child was produced and she had a son. Later that relationship became extremely poisonous, and she had no choice but to run.

MIGRATION

She later migrated to the United States for a better life. And the grand turn around in her life started when she soon after gave her life to Jesus Christ. Terry-Ann became undocumented but disregarded the many advice of her friends to pay her way out. She decided to wait on God to send her a Godly husband. After waiting five (5) years she got married and two years later they had a son from that union. The Lord God then amended the relationship between Terry-Ann and her mother, and they became best friends until her mother passed away.

The Book Titled “SCARRED, RESTORED AND REFINED”

is a fulfillment of a prophecy that she received in four years prior to 2022.

The book was birthed after a close friend, Sandrine Stapleton introduced and paid for her to a course called, “Mind Renewal by Rev Leostone Morrison”. Terry-Ann said, "during the duration of the course, she wanted to quit due to some challenges that she faced but was encouraged to go ahead by Rev Morrison." She completed the nine weeks course and was mentored and pushed in writing the book by Rev Morrison who she greatly appreciates. He allowed the LORD to use him to help her to push to the finished line delivering Scarred, Restored, and Refined that is set out to achieve what God purpose it to.

Terry-Ann wrote her story to help others know that they are not unique to what they have or currently going through and encourages them to trust that God is able to heal and restore whatever Scars they might encounter on life’s journey.

She stated that “He did it for me and he can do it for you too”.
