The Faith of Friends

The Faith of Friends

" And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee" (Matthew 9:2).

The Pharisees and Sadducees thought it blasphemy for Jesus to tell someone that their sin was forgiven. Nevertheless the men, being really concerned about their friend, brought him to Jesus and the unthinkable happened. Jesus looked beyond the sick and saw the friends' faith. Importantly the man got his deliverance and forgiveness based on the fact that His friends believed that Jesus could do it.

Based on today's reading times will come when we are like the sick man; life is trying to paralyze us and we simply do not have the strength to hold the fort or even pray. Therefore on those days it is important that we have friends who will walk with the stretchers of faith and take us to the King. More than anything money could ever buy, we need to surround ourselves with people who will believe God for us even when everything seems impossible.

Let us pray

Father thank You for all those who You have sent to carry me especially on my low days amen.
